At Dr Clear Aligners, we recommend dental scaling and polishing be performed once or twice a year to remove both external and internal surface stains and to maintain optimal oral health. External stains can result from consuming coffee, tea, fruit juices, and tobacco use, while internal stains occur when staining agents penetrate deep into the tooth structure. Routine scaling and polishing effectively remove these stains.
Comprehensive Scaling and Polishing Treatment
Our comprehensive full-mouth scaling and polishing is a non-surgical treatment carried out with an ultrasonic tool. This procedure helps eliminate plaque, tartar, and bacterial toxins, and includes cleaning areas of the tooth below the gum line. This helps maintain healthy teeth and gums while preventing gum disease and bad breath. After scaling, we polish your teeth using a polishing paste and a rotating rubber cup to enhance their appearance and remove bacteria.
Deep Cleaning
In cases where a more intensive cleaning is required, we offer deep cleaning on a per-tooth basis. This treatment focuses on the removal of plaque and tartar from the tooth's root surfaces, helping to prevent periodontal disease and improve overall gum health.
Airflow SPA Treatment
For those who prefer, we also offer the airflow polish treatment. This procedure involves applying a high-powered combination of compressed air, water, and fine powder particles to clean teeth and gums of stains and dental plaque. The air-polishing system is designed for a deep and thorough clean, leaving your teeth feeling smooth and looking pearly-white.
